National Sailing Hall of Fame - The National Sailing Hall of Fame is a not-for-profit educational institution dedicated to preserving the history of the sport of sailing and its impact on our culture, honoring those who have made outstanding contributions to the sport of sailing, inspiring and encouraging sailing development and providing an international landmark for sailing enthusiasts.

The National Sailing Hall of Fame Sailing Center, Docks, Web-site and planned facility is and will be an educational tool for the city, county, and state focusing on the relationship between math, science, history, literature and sailing. The NSHOF is developing virtual programs that will then be utilized in the built facility.

The National Sailing Hall of Fame has engaged with a broad local constituency. Local partners include Box of Rain, CRAB, Annapolis Community Boating, Annapolis Middle School, Boy Scouts, Sea Scouts, Brendan Sail Training Program for Youth and Annapolis Family Boat Building.

We are delighted that the NSHOF will direct its proceeds from the 2008 Boat Show Bash to the Annapolis Middle School Sailing Club/NSHOF partnership.

EYC Foundation - The EYC Foundation was created in 1999 by a group of volunteers who wanted to give something back to their community by working with the young, the "at-risk", and the disadvantaged. Annapolis provides us with a unique venue to help build programs based on our love of the Chesapeake Bay and the maritime activities it presents. The Eastport Yacht Club Foundation seeks to encourage and support
  1. young people in the Annapolis and Anne Arundel County area, providing them with life opportunities, role models, and experiences geared toward, and based on, our shared maritime heritage;

  2. programs that educate children in the heritage and ecology of the Chesapeake Bay watershed, and teach them how to preserve and improve our environment;

  3. programs that provide youngsters with paddling, powerboat and sailboat opportunities geared toward developing skills as well as creating positive self-esteem;

  4. programs that provide specific life skills to young people, to include maritime vocational programs leading to future employment opportunities.

Among the local programs that The EYC Foundation has supported in the past are: Box of Rain, Captain Bill Pinkney Program, Annapolis Family Boat Building, Oyster Kids Planting Program, and scholarship opportunities for both youth sailing programs and the Chesapeake Marine Trades School.
